Terms

Scriptmate is sold through the App Store, so your use of the app is governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement. The terms below add what is specific to Scriptmate. Where the two conflict, Apple's agreement wins.
Subscription and pricing
Scriptmate Pro costs $9.99 a month or $69.99 a year and starts with a free trial of 7 days. Payment is charged to your Apple ID when the trial ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You cancel in your App Store account settings and keep access until the end of the paid period. Prices in other countries are shown in the App Store before you buy.
Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us, at reportaproblem.apple.com. The demo scene and your first import are free to try before any purchase.
Your scripts and recordings
You keep every right to the scripts you import and the self-tapes you record. We do not claim ownership of your material and we do not use it to train anything. You are responsible for having the right to use the scripts you bring into the app and for what you do with the recordings you make.
Fair use of the import service
Parsing runs on our servers and costs money per script, so the app applies a fair use limit on imports per device. The limit is generous for one actor preparing auditions and exists to stop automated use. Using the parsing service outside the app, or reselling it, is not allowed.
What we promise, and what we do not
Parsing uses an AI model and can get a character or a line wrong, and cue detection depends on your microphone and your surroundings. Check the parsed scene against your sides before an audition. Everything that goes through the parsing service needs an internet connection.
We can change, add or retire features, and we announce material changes in the release notes. The app is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost auditions, lost recordings or other damages arising from its use. Keep copies of scripts and tapes you cannot afford to lose.
Changes to these terms
The date at the top shows the last revision. Material changes are mentioned in the App Store release notes, and continued use of the app after a change means you accept it.
